To some people, the act of making oneself busy without being asked to do so proves to generate unholy happiness for the current malicious international groups that rally behind TPLF. Yet, these people, at the expense of the security of a country that should not deserve such harm, some US politicians wish to enact their unacceptable and unjust measures by law through every possible means they deem it feasible. Sadism, perhaps, protracts or lengthens the precious time for the malicious act of destroying the peace and security of an individual, a group or a country at large.
US administrator Samantha Power for example, in addition to her personal efforts to destabilize Ethiopia, in her statements on international forum, appeals for the collaboration of other countries to rally behind her evil schemes of destroying a country.
Blocking the food delivery to the where the needy people are is not at all what the federal government should be accused of. If that is the case, how come that the junta rebels are captured with the food in their pockets? How did the food reach them? Shouldn’t other parties apart from the federal government be accountable for the misdeeds? There is where the actress of the play misses the mark of the act.
Samantha Power, in her endeavor to play right on the wrong stage, should have terribly offended her so called refined and well civilized audience. As critiques, they should have right away condemned her for such wrong presentation of the whole issue. The play narratives of this USAID chief, irrationally slams the federal government for blocking aid to Tigray and calls on the other three main parties to the conflict to withdraw their forces.
While the integrity of the country is at stake, who does she think is willing to implement her illusive suggestions? Her repeated outcry of coming to the round table agreement has reached the stage of utter disgust. Of all the countries on earth, is the United States willing to discuss with the group it has labeled as terrorists? ‘Don’t do unto others what you do not want to be done unto you’ – the golden rule is violated.
How come the international community that professes democracy turns blind eye and deaf ear to such crucial issue of international concern? How in the face of the atrocious acts of terrorism on innocent civilians and under age children, destruction of infrastructure, ransacking and raping, do some western countries and the United States blindly dare to force Ethiopia to negotiate with terrorists? With their spirit of uncontrollable vengeance, wherever these terrorists reached, have plundered of all that was worth anything.
The fighters of the junta stretched out to Amhara and Afar regions following the unilateral ceasefire agreement upon which the federal government withdrew its forces from Mekele. They did not adhere to it, and in fact they took it as good chance to further carryout their atrocity by massacring hundreds and displacing thousands while vanguards of human rights sit back and watch them. They should have been leading the way in assuming their responsibilities to condemn the war criminals and wisely work with Ethiopian government to restore law and order in the region.
Questions often pop up in the mind of the writer: Where is the United Nations’ righteous policy of the sovereignty of a state that the nations claim to seriously advocate? The intensity of war crime has grown to the level of even killing animals that do not have anything to do with the war. It is the worst war crime the world has ever witnessed. If we were to sit down and analyze situations, how does opening the stomach of a pregnant woman and taking out the fetus? How about raping a girl in front of her parents? Where in the history of the world has such heinous act recorded?
If half as much crime took place in their countries, it is utterly doubtful that they would tolerate it a bit. As much as they have ganged up their mass media against Ethiopia, they would have seriously begged for much wider coverage in support of what they call the violation of human rights and take measures proportional to the crime.
Yet, their negligence to address the problem in Tigray State is as devastating as direct adding of fuel to the problem in their efforts to intensify civil war in Ethiopia.
As the United States grapples with systemic racism and other human rights violations domestically, it is particularly important for the international community to understand what is behind the interference of the United States in countries in the name of restoring peace and order. A super power nation trying to dealing with internal affairs of another country before correcting its own problem at home is nothing but farce to make people laugh. In this situation, truth and rectitude are terribly lacking and trust is hopelessly lost.
Throughout history, the world has witnessed numerous wars of various kinds. Actually war is a state created by the use of armed forces between two countries.
Countries, one way or the other, fight against each other. For that matter, there are many potential reasons, like competition over territory and resources.
With respect to the issue of territorial conflict, let alone between two countries, in the Ethiopian context for instance, neighbors are often seen fighting over a piece of land on their adjacent boundaries. Logically as, it is human nature that nobody ever wants to give away a small piece of his own land whatsoever. At times the pride, the hub of national preservation, plays a vital role in such circumstance. Allowing an enemy to take your land without convincing reason or ownership right, is an indication of nothing other than utter defeat.
When it comes to countries fighting against each other, there are many potential reasons, including competition over territory and resources, historical rivalries and grievances, and in self-defense against an aggressor or a perceived potential aggressor.
The case of the war in north Ethiopia, Tigray, is of entirely different political nature. It is the operation to restore law and order in the region. No government allows its territorial integrity to be in jeopardy. International community, particularly the United States, desires and restlessly work at it to portray the whole situation as if it were a war between two countries so that they can use it as a means to achieve their objectives in the Horn of Africa and even beyond.
Such a sly endeavor can definitely provoke justice-loving countries of the world to stand up to it. It is obvious that what the adversary does to one country can happen to another; it is just a matter of time. This and other undisclosed mischiefs are cornerstones that deny the actors or the adversaries the applaud from the audience that they always aspire for and most of the time demand to win by force.
Even if their act is not favorable to the audience who need performance that is not less than excellent. To subdue the unruly and put internal affairs in order, the highest authority in the country, empowered by the will of the people, has the authority to do everything in its power for the security of the nation. No power on earth, no matter how strong and influential, can stop it from acting.
The federal government, in line with the interest and the consent of its citizens, as long as it is deemed necessary, can mobilize people to fight and dispel any form of aggression. There is no reason, as the meddlers wish, for the government to sit back and watch while the country is destroyed by the mobilized move of enemy.
The other aspect to the issue is that even if the government had not acted accordingly, the people could have been forced to take the law into their hands to get rid of the enemy once and for all. It should be known to the meddlers that the government and the people act in harmony. There is no a lone ranger in this case. What a dramatic confrontation ever witnessed – the struggle for sovereignty vs disintegrating force encouraged by the devastating external influence.
