After months of a deliberate silence, most of the international media outlets have started comprehending the reality on the ground with regard to the situation in Tigray, Ethiopia. They have now reported citing credible sources keeping impartiality and serving human interest though not sufficient. However, the Cable News Network (CNN) is being highly bribed and fully indulge in always reporting fake news saying Tigray famine, atrocities in a repeated self-exposing manner to the extent that it seems to be spokesperson the Junta itself with a view to protecting criminal terrorist TPLF and its leftovers, but could hardly succeeded at all.
Shame on such a partisan media, CNN!, which helps assist the notorious irresponsible body—terrorist TPLF. Surprisingly, the cap the CNN’s witness to defame Ethiopia reads “Lekatit 11,”—the so called a founding anniversary. Look! This medium has mentioned the TPLF itself as a credible source that should not be taken for granted.
The person presented as the major witness has been a member of ‘Samri’ killing group fleeing to Sudan after perpetrating the severe massacre in Mai-Kadra. This means the man does have affiliation to TPLF, one of the recruited youth who killed innocent people. At the time of CNN informed people wrongly, the man standing for the terrorist TPLF has proved all what presented a big lie is. How on earth the person injected with terrorist TPLF destructive ideology can be a neutral witness.
It is recalled that some opinionated positions have been spreading through some western media since the commencement of the conflict, and are likely to continue making such unsubstantiated claims. CNN has worse even been producing falsehood fabrications and wrong narratives produced by the Tigray invading forces themselves.
Here is the fact. The TPLF itself purposefully loaded the deceased soldiers on truck and collected at the bank of the rivers calculating that the situation is of useful to accuse the federal government as if the latter commits the crime. TPLF has been pretending such a dubious act as of the time it was in the desert. Surprisingly, CNN has taken the terrorist group mischievous actions for granted and repeatedly commits crimes at the expense of the respected professional, journalism, ethics.
Ethiopians and other forces didn’t commit genocide in Tigray. However, the partisan nature of CNN has been clearly portrayed its affiliation or being well paid as it has recurrently reported fake news instead of disseminating the Galicoma and Agamsa massacre which was perpetrated at scorching sun by the terrorist group. If the media is thinking of human rights and serving truth, the massacre of innocent civilians, children and the elderly as well as expectant women in Afar State is more than enough.
The question is where is CNN heading? Shame on it! In what gut and professional status quo it is running journalistic activities across the globe. This indicates that there are a number of unrevealed dishonesties throughout the world whom people have accepted as real ones.
Undoubtedly, mass media have historically been required to adhere to strong standards of impartiality in news. However, the way CNN is producing reports highly violates journalistic code of ethics and professional dignity. In CNN right now practitioners have effectively compromised objectivity as a professional ideal in contemporary journalistic practice. Unless this medium revisits its editorial policy and news treatment, it is at stake as its partial move is not restricted to Tigray, Ethiopia case.
Since intensity of personalized forms of journalism is rising, bias and emotions damage the growing diversity and changing topography of journalistic landscape. Watch out CNN!
