Ethiopians are always Ethiopians

Since recent times the old tradition of Ethiopians in which they are known well for centuries, but faded away due to plots of some entities is revitalizing unprecedentedly. Ethiopians, across the globe are showing their solidarity and commitment in protecting the peace and security of the country with strong feeling of unity and sense of solidarity.

In fact, for the past close to three decades, several attempts were made to erode this traditional value and ruin communities’ social fabrics through sowing the seeds of enmity and hatred among Ethiopians. The terrorists TPLF group while it was in power was working intently to divide Ethiopians on the basis of their political ideology, religious perspective, and ethnic background. The terrorists, instead of preaching unity, solidarity and togetherness, they made every effort to intimidate Ethiopians, to provoke conflicts and bloodshed among the people aiming to stay in power.

Unfortunately, though the enterprise worked aggressively to blemish the deep-seated feeling of Ethiopianism, arouse strong sense of aversion and enmity amongst the people through propagating hideous and atrocious narrations, it did not succeed in it to the level it had targeted.

The current reaction of Ethiopians also shows this reality. Unlike the well- orchestrated and plotted dividing and antagonistic rhetoric, Ethiopians both living at home and abroad have stood as one to thwart the terrorist TPLF faction that ruled the country with its iron fist policy in its tenure of almost three decades and is now working to dismantle the nation.

Recently, Ethiopians, Ethiopian descents and friends of Ethiopia living in Norway held a rally in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Norwegian to condemn the destructive acts of the terrorist TPLF group and demonstrate solidarity to the Ethiopian National Defense Forces who are sacrificing their lives to protect the sovereignty of the country.

On the program, organized by Ethiopian and Eritrean civic organizations in Norway, several messages that portray the aim of the gatherings were echoed. Especially, messages that condemn the embarrassing and inhuman acts of the terrorist TPLF’s, such as the deployment of child soldiers, anaesthetized youths and involve them in their devilish deeds, looting of property, the massacre of children and women in Afar State, as well as the killings of Eritrean refugees sheltering in Tigray State, were communicated.

They also urged the international community and westerners to stop supporting the terrorist TPLF faction, stressing the enterprise is a terrorist party and it is accountable for all the crimes that were committed in the last thirty years while the party was in power.

Likewise, slogans that were read “US hands off from Ethiopia, and take a lesson from the failure you encountered in Afghanistan’ were presented.

In addition, they submitted letters to, the for Norwegian Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Parliamentary, as well as Norwegian political parties that indicate the crimes the terrorist TPLF has committed and the measures it should be taken on it, according to information gathered from the Ethiopia Spokesperson Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

Singing the same tune, Diasporas, Ethiopians and foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin, residing in Australia, Djibouti have extended solidarity for the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) and pledged 25,000 Australian dollars and donating over 1.1 million Birr respectively.

According to the information from the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, the 25,000 Australian dollars pledge were made in a webinar meeting organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Canberra to mobilize the Diaspora’s response to Campaign for Existence.

In his remark at the event, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Australia Muktar Kedir (PhD) said that the federal government declared a unilateral cease-fire to enable farmers in Tigray State of Ethiopia to carry out farming activities without trouble and increase access to humanitarian assistance.

The Ambassador highlighted that the terrorist TPLF clique declined the ceasefire and continued its aggression to the adjacent areas of Amhara and Afar states through deploying child soldiers to make its devilish act a reality. The ENDF has been taking all the necessary measures to protect civilians’ lives, properties and to halt the criminal group’s destabilization efforts.

The webinar participants said for their part that the government should be alert for the destructive activities of not only the remnants of the terrorist TPLF junta, but also nation’s historical enemies who have been working persistently to frustrate Ethiopia’s journey to peace and prosperity.

The Diasporas expressed desire for the establishment of a dedicated online money transfer system so that they could easily and directly finance the Campaign for Survival and reaffirmed their commitment to enhance the support.

Many participants of the webinar also made pledges to donate 100-300 Australian dollars monthly to the ENDF for a year.

Meanwhile, Ethiopians in Djibouti have donated more than 1.1 million Birr for the second time for the National Defense Forces. Also, diplomats and staff of the Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti pledged their one-month salary for the federal government’s military response to the terrorist enterprise’s provocation.

By the same token, the Ethiopian Community Association, the Union of Evangelical Churches, business persons, maritime and transit service employees and other Ethiopians in Djibouti are taking part in the donation.
