Ethiopia, South Sudan to enhance cooperation in all fields

ADDIS ABABA-South Sudan’s President SalvaKiir visit to Ethiopia aspires strengthening the two countries economic ties and joint infrastructure development, Office of the Prime Minister Press Secretariat Billene Seyoum said.

As to her, President Kiir reaffirmi South Sudan’s Continuous attach to great importance in the relations with Ethiopia.

Press Secretariat Billene said that the focus of the visit was to discuss key bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.

He appreciated the Ethiopian government’s efforts and measures to safeguard constitutional order and condemned the terrorist TPLF attacks against the Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF).

President Kirr highlighted the importance of non-interference by external parties in Ethiopia’s domestic issues.

Prime Mister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) tweeted; “thank you to President SalvaKiir for the commitment to strengthen ties between our two countries. In our discussions, we have also explored the necessity to build on economic ties through infrastructure development. All-weather friends like South Sudan are essential in our time of need.”

President Salva Kiir congratulated Prime Minister Abiy for the successful and peaceful conclusion of the 6th general elections held on June and completion of the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) as well reiterating strong commitment to the ties with Ethiopia.

During his stay in Ethiopia, President SalvaKiirhas hold bilateral talks with various senior government officials.
