ADDIS ABABA- The Tigray Democratic Party (TDP) said that the people of Tigray need to work in collaboration with the federal government to neutralize the terrorist TPLF that has been undertaking untold atrocities against those whom it claims to stand for.
TDP’s Political Affairs Deputy Head Tesfaye Alemayehu told The Ethiopian Herald that TPLF has been killing and arresting numerous ethnic Tigrayan scholars and others who opposed its 27-year brutal regime. Even after being ousted from Addis Ababa by public revolt, the outlawed group continued in killings and suppressing opposition voices in Tigray.
Tesfaye stated that the group had been following the principle of divide and rule on the bases of ethnicities and languages to maintain its power. “Currently all Ethiopians including the people of Tigray understood the evil act of the group and opposed it in all directions so as to bury it for good.”
As to him, though the majority of the Tigray people are willing to support the reform administration of the country they have not been supporting in a meaningful way due to the fear of attack by the terrorist group.
Expressing the atrocities that have been undertaken against Tigray people by terrorist TPLF, the deputy head said that the faction has been forcing the people of Tigray to join its war efforts regardless of age and capacity. “The Tigray people are not willing to fight their Ethiopian brothers and sisters”
Tesfaye called on the federal government to protect the people of Tigray who have been paying sacrifice to save Ethiopia from the terrorist TPLF as the latter has been labelling them as traitors and persecuting their wellbeing.
