ADDIS ABABA – Foreigners of Ethiopia origin and the Diaspora have continued supporting homeland and raised three million Birr for a national cause within a week in Amsterdam, Netherlands, said campaign coordinator.
Calling on all Diaspora to move in unison to support their country as much as they can, Zena Tube owner and producer Dereje Habtewold said that every citizenry of the country has to timely respond to the national campaign and practically show their commitment via contributing to the national effort for destroying internal and external enemies of Ethiopia.
In a telephone call with The Ethiopian Herald, Dereje noted that it is high time to stand in unison to confidently overcome foes thereby doing them away to declare Ethiopia’s prosperity within the shortest time possible, and the support the Diaspora community for the defense force is rising.
“I am here from Amsterdam, Netherlands to handover the financial support secured from Diaspora community in a bid to support the hospitalized defense force members. The Diaspora community is well committed to support their country in all aspects. Since historical enemies of Ethiopia are closely working with internal bandits in a bid to disgrace Ethiopia, all Ethiopians are standing together and mobilizing resources using a campaign to help the brave defense force protecting the sovereignty of the nation,” he added.
According to him, all citizens should be vigilant against the smear campaign puffed by some Diaspora communities and local bandits as they have filled with hatred and sense of jealousy against their country. We should keep on fighting them and help he draw important lessons developing patriotism and pure Ethiopian-ness.
“It should be well noted that today is high time to stand together to save our country despite minor difference citizens do have as a country is beyond a political party, affiliation sentiment and even individuals and groups. It is also enough to observe what happened in Libya, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan following foreign forces intervention. Yes, ours is different since it is an origin of mankind, never colonized, home to numerous heroes and heroines as committed and patriotic citizenry to save their country whatever the cost may be. Hence, foreign elements will never be allowed to intervene, we all are guards of this beloved nation—Ethiopia,” he underscored.
