Terrorist TPLF’s divisive strategy of conflicts is part of its quest for hegemony in Ethiopia

BY SOLOMON DIBABA

The entire history of terrorist TPLF and the genesis of its manipulative political ideology is based on hatred and animosity on the peoples of Ethiopia. The first political manifesto it issued in 1976 reads,

“Disagreement and suspicion among the nations of Ethiopia have resulted from the worsening of the oppression by the Amhara ethnic group over the oppressed nations of Ethiopia and especially over the Tigray ethnic group. Therefore, we now reached a stage where all the oppressed nations of Ethiopia can no more undertake a common class struggle”

The manifesto called for abandoning the class struggle and to replace it by ethnic based struggle which it cunningly formulated the ideological basis of ethnic fragmentation in the country as a tool for promoting Tigrayan hegemony in the country.

It used the political ideology of what it called “Revolutionary Democracy” which has never been revolutionary or democratic in practice.

On the other hand, the February 1976 TPLF Manifesto provided for the deconstruction of the internal territory of the country and rewriting history by including areas that were part of Amhara Region including Humera, Wolkayit, Alamata, Ashenge, Kobo, Eritrean Kunama, Erob and Afar land.

The Manifesto defines Tigrayan as “Anybody that speaks the language of Tigrigna including those who live outside Tigray, the Kunama, Saho, Afar, Agew and Wolkayit”. in this context the Manifesto provided for the establishment of The Republic Greater Tigray by incorporating parts of Eritrea, Benishangul Gumuz and Afar region based on the terrorist TPLF dominated preparation of the 1994 FDRE Constitution which did not actually demarcate the above mentioned territories outside of Tigray.

Throughout the past 47 years of its existence terrorist TPLF was implementing its hidden policy of political irredentism and ideological neo-fascism with no consideration to the laws of the country and the constitution which it claimed to have formulated.

Terrorist TPLF incorporated article 39 of the Constitution in such a way that it would fit into its desire to secede from Ethiopia as indicated in the February 1976 terrorist TPLF Manifesto and not as such for the self determination of the ethnic groups in the country. Having realized that the provisions of the Manifesto cannot be accomplished only by the efforts of terrorist TPLF, the organization formed three other ethnic based political organizations including the Oromo People Democratic Front, South Peoples Democratic Front and the Amhara Peoples Democratic Movement and consequently formed the Ethiopian People’s Democratic Front in May 1988 as an umbrella organization heavily manipulated by terrorist TPLF.

Furthermore, it set up an ethnic based federal system in which it incorporated parts of Benishangul Gumuz, Amhara and Afar region into Tigray as provided in the 1976 TPLF Manifesto.

The constitution was in fact a window dressing for the political desires of terrorist TPLF and a legal document that authorized terrorist TPLF’s political hegemony in Ethiopia.

Over the last 27 years TPLF systematically instigated conflicts in Ethiopia from two perspectives. In the first place it continued to hatch conflicts and disagreements among the EPRDF member parties and also periodic conflicts around the internal borders between the regional states in the country.

Terrorist TPLF systematically transferred internal conflicts among the member parties of EPRDF into public conflicts among the ethnic groups in the country.

Terrorist TPLF exploited the border conflicts between Oromia and Somali Regions too conduct illicit trade and contraband to finance its hegemonic political treachery with the objective of creating the Republic of Greater Tigray as mentioned above.

It is important to note that terrorist TPLF pauses as an arbitrator in conflicts between ethnic groups in the country to conceal its hidden agenda of creating conflicts to weaken the socio-political fabric in Ethiopia and ultimately destroy the statehood of the country.

Terrorist TPLF and its umbrella organization, EPRDF systematically destroyed the economic equity among the federal states and used economic inequality and an unbalanced infrastructure development as a tool for inciting public unrest and crisis in Oromia and Amhara Regions.

Besides, terrorist TPLF organized a propaganda war between the major ethnic groups in the country leading to an unnecessary fratricide which resulted in loss of lives, public and private properties in Oromia and elsewhere in the other regions of the country. For instance ethnic based conflicts in Gura Farda, Konso, Benchi Maji Zone and in Gujji Zone were orchestrated by terrorist TPLF paid gangsters including terrorist OLF- Shene which has now reportedly allied with terrorist TPLF.

The whole idea boils down to the face that TPLF can never exist as an organization outside and independent of the proliferation of conflicts. This is evident by the fact that it is already allying with the neighboring countries of Sudan and Egypt to expand its orbit of conflicts in Ethiopia.

The Gang of Five in terrorist TPLF leadership is busy finding ways and means for their own survival while they keep on putting more fuel in the already burning war fire by systematically destroying a whole generation of youth in the country. The western powers are seemingly worried about the war in Ethiopia not as such out of humanity but to ensure that their political interests are well served in Ethiopia and Greater Horn of Africa. And divisive

All told, terrorist TPLF is born in conflict and wishes to continue to live by mobilizing all anti-Ethiopia forces it can mobilize but the destiny of all Ethiopians rests on their unity and ability to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country.
