The patriotism and valor of Ethiopians have stood the test of time against all odds. Ethiopian people have centuries-old bravery and resilience in overcoming internal and external threats.
Ethiopians regardless of ethnic background, religious affiliation and other denominations managed to drive out the invading forces from all corners of the country at the earliest possible time. The unity of Ethiopians made the impossible possible by crashing the white aggressors at the Battle of Adawa and freeing the entire black people from the yoke of colonialism. The first black victory against the western powers had brought a new dawn to the entire Africa and all black people. They as well unshackled the chains colonizers had put on their minds.
The success story of the victory of Adwa was on account of the large unity of Ethiopians and their determination and hard work. It is no hyperbole to say, unity was the driving force and the secret behind their magnificent victory.
It is worth mentioning that the different Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia have made the entire black people breathe a sigh of relief from the oppression of colonizers that were messing up their lives for the most part in the continent of Africa.
To the surprise of everyone, when Italy invaded Ethiopia, the reaction, zeal and patriotism of the people of Ethiopia were beyond words. Ethiopians paid the ultimate price to safeguard Ethiopian territory and sovereignty. A century later, Ethiopians are now displaying the same valor and resolve once again to crash their number one enemy and defend the territorial integrity and unity of the country.
Following the terrorist TPLF group’s incursions against Amhara and Afar regions by intending to fragment the nation, the various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia have been repeating the same history to foil the evil mission of the terrorist group.
In the present climate, Ethiopians regardless of their differences have been fighting the terrorist group intending to defend and redeem their mother country. This is a sign that Ethiopians give prominence to Ethiopia’s honor and sovereignty of their nation.
Notwithstanding the fact that Ethiopians do not agree on quite a lot of matters on the topic of their motherland, whenever something happens, they put their differences aside and stand united to repel internal and external enemies in defense of sovereignty.
In fact, Ethiopians are very much aware that the terrorist TPLF group is dangerous as foreign aggressors if not beyond. For nearly three decades, the group made an effort to sow discord and division among various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia as the name Ethiopia is allergic to them, they have been pulling out all the stops to destabilize the country.
To Ethiopians’ dismay, as if its old atrocities are not enough, the terrorist TPLF group attacked the Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces in a clear mission to disintegrate Ethiopian and breach its sovereignty.
The attack has rather united Ethiopians and mobilized the whole nation as they threw their full weight behind the law enforcement operation that followed the terrorist’s horrific act. The group was misled by not knowing the true nature of Ethiopians. It thought it would divide Ethiopians and destroy its sovereignty to be annihilated by heroic Ethiopian men and women.
In an interview with The Ethiopian Herald, Tilahun Erudno, a political analyst, said: “As was done in the past, the various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia should stand together as it is one of the decisive factors to be triumphant over the terrorist TPLF group. To get to the bottom of the problem, we should all work with one accord. When we stand together, no force could stand in our ways, he added.
The terrorist TPLF officials have been working for over two decades with a view to dismantling the country despite all their efforts went for nothing. They were working around the clock for materializing their dreams. If truth be told, nothing makes them happier than dismantling the various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia. The unique feature of the terrorist TPLF group is going against the interest of Ethiopia and its people with the intention of dismantling the country. They are still trying to sow the seeds of hatred in the midst of Ethiopians. They were not seen advocating for the unity of the country. They do not believe in unity, he added.
“The terrorist TPLF group does not represent the people of Tigray. They were putting pressure on the people of Tigray making the place a battleground for over four decades. For sure, the people of Tigray will continue joining hands with the rest of Ethiopians to uproot the terrorist TPLF group”.
Alluding to Ethiopia’s past experiences, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, said Ethiopians have been able to defend the sovereignty of the country. Issuing a statement on Sunday, regarding the terrorist TPLF group, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said that even though Ethiopia had passed through many twists and turns and many challenges, the country, in the end, turned out to be victorious over its adversaries bringing unity and wiseness of its people into play. Whether the problems are internal or external ones, Ethiopians end up being victories over their enemies by standing together seeing that there is nothing beyond their capacity. Nothing is beyond their heads when they act in unison.
He went on to say, “Added to everything, the terrorist TPLF group has lived for many years poisoning the country and conspiring against the benefits of Ethiopians. As things stand at present, the group is approaching its total end. All their undertakings are nothing less than the last kicks of a dying horse. At the current juncture, they have been pulling out all the stops to stay alive. Before the terrorist TPLF Junta closes its eyes never to open them again, it is an inevitable fact that it would be an obstacle to peace.
“Over the past few years, we have passed through quite a lot of political and economic conspiracies. Gaps being manifested in the diplomatic accomplishments of the country were demonstrated three or four years ago in several sectors of the nation. It was our day-to-day suffering. These quandaries were manifested in the economic, social, administration, security sectors, and things of that sort.” he added. Besides, people from all walks of life have been actively standing by the side of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces to eradicate the terrorist group once and for all.
