Public defiance against internal terrorism, external intervention

TPLF terrorist group’s recent incursions into Afar and Amhara states have been galvanizing the sense of patriotism among Ethiopians. Ethiopians both at home and abroad have continued expressing their support to the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF). On Sunday only, thousands of Ethiopians from the special zonal administration of Oromia and residents of Addis Ababa rallied in the capital in a show of solidarity with the Ethiopian National Defense Forces as they also denounced TPLF terrorist group.

The demonstrators were from various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia. The continued mass mobilization against the divisive rhetoric and belligerent action of TPLF marks a stark departure from the three decades of divisive rule. This time, Ethiopian sentiment is growing in defiance of external intervention and internal terrorism. Unity and solidarity is triumphing over hatred and division.

In the big rally, the people carried placards that denounce TPLF and external intervention while praising the valor of ENDF. Most of them have been chanting several slogans such as Ethiopia’s army is an army of truth and justice, TPLF is Ethiopia’s cancer, stop meddling in our internal affairs, we will keep our peace through national unity, and other things of a similar kind.

To reverse the threats the country faced internally and externally, people from all corners of the country have been contributing in cash and in-kind apart from joining the army. In this regard, Sunday’s rally is continuation of the mass mobilization activity.

Speaking at Mesekel Square, Adanech Abiebie, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa said, “We Ethiopians are at the ready to make any sacrifice for our country. Ethiopia’s heroism will keep getting stronger.”

“Peace cannot be achieved only from the interest of one party. Ethiopia is led by a democratically elected government but not by puppet ones assigned by others. The Ethiopian National Defense Forces and security forces have been paying incomparable sacrifices for Ethiopia. On the basis thereof, they deserve great respect. We will stand by the side of them. We will support them.” she added.

Ethiopians’ heroism and their unity will continue getting stronger. Other bodies that endeavor to give the kiss of life to the terrorist TPLF Junta that has been dead and buried by Ethiopians should refrain from their attempt. They should be able to listen to the people 100 million Ethiopians.

On his part, Shimelis Abdisa, Deputy President of Oromia region said the terrorist TPLF has murdered our youths. They robbed and divided us. Reasoning from this fact, we do not want their evil acts to take form afresh.

The terrorist TPLF officials were ruling the country as they wished. Nowadays, the seats are made to be the various Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia. Ethiopians should work hand-in-glove to defend against the terrorist TPLF Junta. As Ethiopiansim is in our blood, nobody can divide us and destabilize Ethiopia.

In the present circumstances, quite a lot of government officials have been boosting the Ethiopian National Defense Forces and militias in various parts of the northern parts of the country.

The fact that the demonstrators were diverse shows that Ethiopians are united and committed to defending their country from TPLF, a terrorist group that has been portraying itself as the only guardian of the FDRE constitution and the people of Ethiopia. Ethiopians are very much aware that the terrorist group is indeed the one that stand against diversity and the constitution.

Before relegated to a terrorist group and becoming nothing but escapees, the group had been turning the lives of Ethiopians into living hell on its watch and led the country into uncharted territory. The terrorist clique had been unremittingly violating human rights on a national scale.

Even worse, the terrorist TPLF Junta has been making an effort to throw cold water on humanitarian assistance and turn the lives of millions in jeopardy. Regarding the terrorist group’s evil deeds the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia issued a statement.

As to the statement, TPLF has continued launching attacks and creating havoc in the adjacent territories of the Tigray region. The TPLF forces also continue to impede humanitarian assistance, thereby putting the lives of many millions at risk.

Despite the unilateral ceasefire declared by the Government, the terrorist’s forces have turned a deaf ear to the call by the international community to cease all sorts of hostility and allow the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people in need and for farmers in the Region to make use of the rainy season.

Due to the recent attacks by the force in some areas in the Amhara Region, the people are concerned about the possible destruction of religious and other institutions by the TPLF which signify the centuries-old identity, religion, and culture of Ethiopian people. This concern stems from the fact that the TPLF has done a lot of pillaging, looting, and destruction over the past eight months.

The Government will take all the necessary measures to ensure that these sacred places and other institutions are well protected and call on the international community to condemn this heinous act of the TPLF.

In a previous interview with The Ethiopian Herald, Amdegebriel Admasu, who is a legal expert said that all Ethiopians know that the terrorist TPLF group has not been the guardian of Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ of Ethiopia. It has been the enemies of the entire people rather.

“The terrorist TPLF officials pushed beyond their limits to put divide and rule strategies into effect and weaken the power of the people of Amhara and Oromo. Furthermore, they left no stone unturned to drive out certain groups from the market and take control of the country’s economy,” he opined.

“As the matter stands, the terrorist group is not the guardians of the various Nations, Nationalities, and peoples of Ethiopia. They every so often struggle to make their dream become a reality. Back in the day, “Above and beyond, the terrorist TPLF has been spreading the poison of hatred amid the various Nation’s Nationalities and Peoples of Ethiopia to weaken them.

Despite the divisive rhetoric, Ethiopians at a time of challenges stand united without reference to age, gender, ethnic background, political point of view, and other related aspects.

In addition to the people, senior officials in an act of encouragement are paying a visit to fronts where ENDF and paramilitary forces are stationed.

On Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen and other officials visited Debre Zebit, Meqet Woreda of Amhara state.

The delegation paid a visit to the units of Ethiopian Defense Forces, Amhara Special Forces, and Fano that are defending the area from the destructive acts of the terrorist group.

“Ethiopians should unite to defend their country and halt TPLF’s lootings and killings of civilians in the Amhara and Afar regions,” he added.

Ethiopians should unite in disabling TPLF’s destructive acts, said Demeke.

The visiting group has also appreciated the preparation, motivation, and initiative of the people in the area to defend themselves from TPLF’s irresponsible acts working together with the ENDF and Special Forces.

Demeke underscored that the people should give a debilitative blow to the terrorist group and disable it from compromising the unity of Ethiopians and the wellbeing of their country.
