Art community vows to preserve national security

Presently, Ethiopians from all walks of life are eyeing the nation’s law enforcement operation. The youth and other sectors of citizens are marching to the war front and military training camps. Others are taking part in facilitating logistics, contributing financial supports and preparing foods and related items. All are ready to pay sacrifice to their motherland.

Above all, every Ethiopians are ready to discharge their responsibility and save the country from the terrorist TPLF junta, internal and external enemies. Yes, as it has been demonstrated by our forefathers and foremothers, witnessed in history, Ethiopians prioritize national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Likewise, other sectors of the community, Ethiopian artists have a commitment and dedication to take their own parts in defending the country by contributing, exhibiting professional artistic works which can motivate citizens to safeguard their country. They are determined to support the National Defense Forces, States’ Special Forces and militias who are confronting Ethiopia’s enemies at the war front.

For the third row at the national level, the Ethiopian icon artists who presented their artworks at the Ethiopian National Theatre late last week vowed to preserve the Ethiopian national security and to respond to the alert by the government for national service in backing the national campaigns, supporting the Ethiopian National Defense Forces and slamming the external interventions by some countries and the criminal activities of the TPLF junta.

The artists drawn from all art fields presented various patriotic, motivational and entertaining artworks at the National Theatre stage expressing their renewed commitment once again to be at the frontline to contribute what is expected from the sector in order to defend the country.

During the event that was held under the theme “I will march to safeguard Ethiopia in all front, all the time, by all means”, Assistant Prof. Nebiyu Baye representing the artists stated that Ethiopianism is something that prevails when inhibited, lighten when others try to make it darken.

He further noted that as proven during the past history of the country, challenge is a spice that sweetens the Ethiopian statehood. Adwa is the living evidence for this, the second Italian aggression and the recent challenges are contributing factors for the strong unity that Ethiopians from all walks of life come together in order to defend their country.

Today, people cry when they happen to see the Ethiopian national emblem and when they happen to hear the national anthem, is the manifestation of their deep love for their country.

The art people are echoing Ethiopianism starting from the former generation up to today’s young artists like Tedros Kassahun aka (Teddy Afro) and Dawit Tsige, Nebiyu stated adding that this the fact that tells the enemies of Ethiopia that every generation doesn’t accept the unwarranted external aggression and always in the frontline for the national service.

Nebiyu, in addition to this, the art community is paying life sacrifice considering the fact that artwork by itself  is sometimes may not be enough in hard times like that of these days that the country is dealing with.

The guest of honor, ENDF Spokesperson Colonel Getnet Adane for his part said that on behalf of the ENDF I am assuring the art community that the brave sons and daughters of Ethiopia are ready and capable of defending the country from all external and local unwarranted campaigns against its peaceful coexistence.

“Internal and external enemies are working hard to weaken Ethiopia. The anti-peace forces near and far are looking for a weak Ethiopia to happen and working to influence as it has been clear from their actions that they will not hesitate to conspire and to destroy the country at any cost even by collaborating with internal enemies or criminals. However, this dream of weakening Ethiopia will be defeated by the coordinated arms of all Ethiopians.”

“Everything depends on the existence of a country,” he said.

The event that was attended by senior defense officers, ministers, government officials, leaders of political parties, and the arts community is the third of its kind, according to Nebiyu who is also member of the organizing committee.

Furthermore, the Oromo Cultural Center had also displayed its artistic pieces in various forms during the event.

The artist participated in the event had featured circus, poetry, drama, music, comedy, and other works of art with strong and inspirational messages including the theme “I will march to safeguard Ethiopia in all fronts, all the time, by all means “. The artists time and again portrayed this message during the program.

The Orchestra Ethiopia, the marching band of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces performed patriotic, motivational and entertaining performances.

On its part, the Ethiopian National Theater Communication Affairs Directorate presented a photo exhibition of theaters which promotes Ethiopia’s sovereignty, love, and peace and development trajectories.

The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Peace and the Ministry of Defense.
