Not only is Ethiopia endowed with affluent natural resources, tangible and intangible heritages, ever-green, splendid and beguiling topographical landscape, people with hospitable mentality, time-tested cultural coexistence and many other invaluable social values but it is also rich in productive and patriotic youth. These segments of the society are capable of discharging their respective responsibilities at all levels to help, their beloved motherland—Ethiopia—triumphantly, pass the bad time it has faced at present.
Thanks to the recent reform, the name ‘Ethiopia’ which was even about to be elapsed and was not to be properly called to deliberately smash out the sense of belongingness of the youth, who will take over this great nation with its future, has now started flourishing as everyone across the globe calls Ethiopia flying its flag high and this would be of instrumental in well rooting sense of patriotism via extinguishing the conspiracy and defamation inculcated in the minds of the posterity.
Unquestionably, Ethiopia’s renaissance is around the corner as its sons and daughters especially the real change engines—The Youth—are committed more than ever before to pay any sacrifice to safeguard their country at any cost. The olden saying of a renowned American President reads, “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country,” has to be translated into actions at this time as Ethiopia is badly demanding the support and he commitment of the youth.
A tongue and two ears are given to us to speak once and to listen to ideas twice to make a sound decision, indeed. Hence, the youth are expected to engage in any activity to be productive. They should also refrain from indulging themselves in unwanted and irrelevant moves and deeds; instead they are expected to run activities that are potentially benefiting themselves, their families and their county at a larger scale.
Every citizenry, especially they youth, has to think out of the box and start analyzing situations logically and rationally instated of exacerbating issues being lapdogs to conflict entrepreneur and desperate elements. The youth have to move against racism, fundamentalism and a sentiment of adding fuel to fire with a view to bringing about real difference in all aspects.
Civility matters the most. If the youth have queries, they can present their reservations in a manner that is full of courtesy without infringing the rights of others, eroding the reputation of their country and with not sentiment of rivalry. Of course, they you have encountered a range perplexities and confusions as thy have been fed hatred, rivalry, suspicious of one another, sense of jealously and lack of patriotism as their strength, knowledge of the reality on the ground, fraternity, coexistence and mutual understanding has been regarded as a serious treat for the ill-missioned Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) led administration over the last three decades. Basically, a country is not a commodity taken as collateral to quench self-thirst and power monger sentiment. The youth have to come to the forefront to push Ethiopia to the next level of success avowing the irrelevant approaches.
This is high time for Ethiopian youth in particular to fortify energy, finance, expertise, and effective communication skills to help the nation make sound decisions. Yes, the youth are change engines whom the country has to well capitalize on and call on them whenever they are needed. The youth have to be civic minded, productive, ethical and patriots as well. As far as the latter concept is concerned, they have to sustain what they are received from their forefathers and foremothers.
No matter how tough and disgusting the falsehood fabrications and fictitious narratives sown for three decades plus that can potentially widen disparity among all citizens in general and among the youth in particular, the latter have to be well alert and skeptical of the tricks and ill-intentioned missions of the betrayals and desperate leftovers of the dead junta and its accomplices the sources of whose benefits at the expense of the Ethiopian development and the sufferings of its citizens get dried for good these days.
Interestingly, Ethiopia will continue keeping its reputation via ensuring its renaissance and prosperity taking advantage of the commitment and firm decisions of its youth who are going to take over this great nation with its future. Dawn of hope for Ethiopia has already been declared and its citizens from corner to corner have recurrently reiterated that they are ready to pay sacrifice at any time as Ethiopia is equaled by none. No compromise about Ethiopia and its national interest as all citizens have expressed commitment to safeguard this beloved east African star.
In a nutshell, Ethiopia is a unique country to well enjoy growing together with its neighbors and real partners. However, if one wants to run over their country’s national interest and sovereignty, no one becomes sleepless to defend it. Change engines are always on the move and doing remarkable deeds for the sake of keeping Ethiopia alive. Countries which do not want something done upon them had better to revisit their stance and get things to normality as no one benefits out of being rivalry, reflecting antagonistic gesture and running anti-peace and anti-development and growth activities.
Long live Ethiopia! Your womb is fertile and productive. You have never afraid of your siblings. Your enemies will knell down as time is a real judge more than anyone else. Continue doing things in good faith thereby garnering fruits of patience and taking sound decisions based on real fact and convincing justifications.
