ADDIS ABABA– “The CNN’s recent reports are totally biased and one-sided. It is the responsibility of prosecutors to investigate what is happening in the area. However, the CNN has gone through its journalist’s picky reports which are unacceptable,” Ethiopian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the U.S. Fitsum Arega said.
In his recent interview with the CNN’s Zain Asher, Ambassador Fitsum said that recent CNN reports about Ethiopia are full of shift blaming onto the Ethiopian government instead of allowing professional investigators to conduct such allegations. As to him, CNN has been active in disseminating unbalanced reporting towards changing the public opinion.
“We see there is a huge misunderstanding among the international community following the on-going misinformation and disinformation campaign by the media.” Currently, there are very few international media calling the terrorist TPLF by its name after conducting a heinous crime against the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF).
Everything is happened following the terrorist TPLF unprovoked attack and killings against members of the ENDF as well as civilians massacre, he said. Some western media reports are biased and against what are going on the ground, according to him. Currently, the Attorney General is investigating whether there are sexual assaults or other crimes happened in Tigray, he recalled.
It was learnt that more recently some western media outlets’ one-sided propagation and massive disinformation reports have been affecting the international community perspective about what is happening in Tigray.
