
ADDIS ABABA- Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MoCT) urged the current generation to stand in unison and fortify togetherness to replicate the essence of the victory of Adwa thereby firmly ensuring national interests.
Speaking at a monthly organized Grand Talk (‘Tuba Wog’ in local language Amharic) by the Ministry under the theme “A history of all of us for collectively preserving our sovereignty,’’ Hirut Kassahun (Ph.D.) said that such a constructive conversation has been playing an indispensable role in increasing citizens interaction and educating the community well.
According to the Minster, scholars would be engage in writing and preaching about love, unity, forgiveness, fraternity and the like in order to create responsible citizens across the nation. Remembering Adwa’s victory over multifaceted challenges, the Minister said the country has to penetrate the well-orchestrated conspiracies in all aspects using its citizens’ diligence, collaborative effort and sense of belongingness over all sorts of attempts anti-Ethiopia and anti-peace elements have been forwarding.
She further elaborated that Ethiopians from all corners of the globe should come together, and consolidate synergy whenever the nation has been exposed to different challenges including COVID-19 pandemic at present. Therefore, standing together and working for common a goal is the sole solution for ensuring nation’s holistic advantages.
President of Ethiopian Patriot Association Lij Daniel Jotie Mesfin on his part said that the people have a long history of being victorious over enemies and living harmoniously. Since losers and their accomplices are working day in and day out so as to dismantle the nation aiming to succeeding their hidden agenda, it is really high time to make synergy and move in a coordinated manner, he added.
According to the President, educating citizens, understanding the in and out of situations, and scrupulously supervising timely sensational issues is of an incomparable approach to protect the nation from different destructive measures.
History Researcher Prof. Fikere Tolossa said on the occasion that the Italy had used all alternatives weapons during the invasion period, but Ethiopians had averted their mission and aborted it for good via standing together using traditional weapons for unwaveringly defending their country. From this, all can draw important lesson is that unity matter the most. As to the Professor, the current generation would understand the very value of Adwa victory.
