Ethiopia, Eritrea to station troops on international border

ADDIS ABABA- Ethiopia and Eritrea are on the way to finalize technical issues that help put troops on the international borders of the two countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Spokesperson Ambassador Dina Mufti said.

In his weekly press briefing on Tuesday , Amb. Dina said that during the recent meeting of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D) and President Isaias Afwerki ,both agreed to withdraw Eritrean army from the Ethiopia’s border side.

It was learnt that following the multiple rocket attacks hit Eritrea from the areas defunct TPLF junta used to control, the Eritrean army  crossed the Ethiopian borders for security concerns.

“ Since the withdrawal process and the verification are all technical issues, there is no hesitancy on the Ethiopian side to this end,” Amb. Dina said.

It is to be recalled that Ethiopia has expressed its deep appreciation to Eritrea for neutralizing the attacks of the treasonous TPLF clique by treating Ethiopian soldiers and standing with them after they were backstabbed by their own colleagues.
