When the rat laughs at the Cat, there is a hole nearby

The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) has controlled a secret passage of the junta that was built underground at the backyard of Tigray State president’s office. The concrete tunnel that elongates over 300 meters was designed to escape the law enforcement measures from the ENDF.

The junta was bragging as if it had the capability to win the war in a face-to-face confrontation – as per the statements it has been streaming on its media.

It has now become clear that junta’s leader was boasting for the sake of media consumption and hoodwinking the gullible sat on his revolving chair mindful that as a coward he has a way out at the 11th hour.

Though the junta leader was beating a drum for confrontation, he has escaped through the tunnel. This resembles the junta with the rat true to the adage the rat laughed at the cat as it knows there is a hole nearby. Although escaped for the time being, his concrete tunnel and office has become under the control of the ENDF.

“It [the tunnel] is built well like a bastion to defend military attack. They [junta members] may have planned to use it as stronghold but the ENDF powerful operation and watchful eyes of the public obliged them to use their secret passage to escape from becoming captives. It is the nature of dictators to suppress their people and then start tunneling to seek a refuge in their underground cave.

That’s what we learn from several dictators including Saddam Hussein. In any case, we will find them in other underground caves though they managed to escape this time.” Major Ambachew

“The criminal clique is thoroughly vanquished and in disarray with insignificant capability to mount a protracted insurgency. Using lies and anarchy as a political weapon may have worked during the clique’s days of guerrilla warfare.

But it is a lesson the hardliners within the criminal clique have failed to unlearn. The current task of the Federal Government mainly includes bringing fugitives to justice, restoring law and order among others.” Office of the PMO
