– Urges the government to give focus for dental medicine sector
ADDIS ABABA – Preparation is finalized to commence dental medication by new Computer-Aided-Design (CAD)/Computer- Aided-Manufacture (CAM). It brings patients to the most advanced treatment option said, General Manager and Owner of the clinic, Dr. Emebet Gezahegn Special Dental Clinic.
Dr. Emebet told The Ethiopian Herald that the clinic will commence this technology in the very near future and this also enables the clinic to provide medicines in extraordinary efficiency and the patient could get the quality medication in an easy and satisfying way.
The Clinic will be the first of its kind in Ethiopia and East Africa to have this technology (CAD/CAM technology) and provide medications, she said. Besides all this, Dr. Emebet Special Dental Clinichad delivered free dental medical treatment worthy of over half a million birr for more
than 115 people having problems related to dental diseases. Commencing this year, it has planned to deliver similar services once every year. Our clinic is just providing this kind of service in line with carrying out its social responsibility, Emebet said.
She also stressed that the expansion project in dental medicine, Gynecology, and Otolaryngology surgery is underway “but now we ask the government to give us investment lands. However, above all things the dental medical effort, the government’s insufficient attention to the sector has remained a challenge to provide quality services.”
Most of the materials/tools for dental medication are prepared only for one-time use. Because of this the medication is expensive and the material is not available in the country. Dental medical centers should have enough human capital and medical tools as well as a safe working environment. Otherwise its side effect is unpredictable, it costs a lot and it might be a lifetime pain for the patients. Hence, the government needs to support the sector keenly, Dr. Emebet noted.
The Clinic has 27-year experience on dental medication. And it has a total of 52 dental doctors.
