-Academy concludes 7 applied researches on socioeconomic affairs
ADDIS ABABA – The social and economic development activities in Ethiopia’s capital are progressing well, supported by invaluable intellectual input aimed at enhancing project execution performance, according to the Addis Ababa Leadership Academy.
The academy has completed seven research projects over the past eight months, and data collection is currently underway for the remaining ones.
According to the Academy’s Research and Development Director Abinet Fulasa (PhD), this performance demonstrates the academy’s capacity to undertake more studies than the 14 initially planned for this fiscal year.
Abinet told The Ethiopian Herald that performance assessments of institutions under the city administration, leadership-related studies, and evaluations of the transport sector are among the research areas the academy plans to complete this fiscal year.
The applied research conducted by the academy plays a vital role in improving the lives of citizens by offering solutions to social and economic challenges, while also promoting good governance, he added.
The academy is playing a significant role in improving project execution performance in the capital through research, consultation, and training, he stated.
It will soon organize a proposal validation workshop on the opportunities presented by the corridor development project in Addis Ababa, Abinet revealed.
According to him, the study will help identify the project’s practical contributions to improving work culture, creating jobs, and more.
In this regard, he said, project managers and workers at various levels will participate in the data collection process.
Over the past nine years, the Addis Ababa Leadership Academy has conducted approximately 57 studies on social and economic issues, submitting the findings to relevant authorities. The academy’s Deputy President Chanyalew Woldegebriel stated that the studies are of high quality and participatory, thanks to the academy’s quality committee and its merit-based research validation process.
