ADDIS ABABA – Smart Link Properties PLC has unveiled a new e-commerce platform, Nugizu, as part of its broader push to expand digital trading in Ethiopia, streamline daily life, and strengthen market linkages—particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Speaking to The Ethiopian Herald at the recent launch event , Company Founder and Executive Manager Yonas Beyene said the initiative aims to modernize trading practices and bridge gaps between sellers and buyers through a secure, user-friendly digital marketplace.
“Our focus is on expanding digital trade and simplifying lifestyles through seamless online experiences. Nugizu is designed to empower SMEs and modernize both the trader and customer ecosystems in Ethiopia,” he said.
The platform features a wide product selection, multi-vendor marketplace, intuitive search functions, and a secure payment system.
It supports multiple digital payment options including telebirr, bank transfers, CBE Birr, and international credit and debit cards.
Beyond transactions, the platform provides integrated services such as delivery logistics, customer support, and a seller management dashboard. Yonas added that Nugizu is also designed to create jobs in affiliate marketing, delivery, and other supporting sectors.
Importantly, Smart Link envisions Nugizu as a pan-African e-commerce platform. “Our ambition is to connect businesses and customers across the continent.
Nugizu is built with scalability in mind, offering a robust infrastructure for the African online marketplace,” Yonas stated.
By serving as a central hub for multiple vendors, the platform offers buyers an extensive and diverse marketplace experience.
It also enables businesses to expand their customer base and increase visibility in a growing digital economy.
