Driving economic growth through Prosperity Party’s vision

There is no denying that the Prosperity Party (PP) has been working at all hours of the day and night with a focus on building sustainable development, bringing about practical change and registering results in various development trajectories.

It is a widely held view that PP concluded the second Congress in Addis Ababa by passing a broad range of vital resolutions that can take the country to unprecedented heights. A broad range of matters have been tossed around with a view to catapulting the economic development of the country and other related means over the course of time.

It is no hyperbole to say that the Congress marks a highly significant step in Ethiopia’s advancement trajectory.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) described the first five years as a “take-off phase,” marked by overcoming significant challenges and laying the groundwork for future growth. The government expects accelerated development in the coming years, particularly in infrastructure, economic growth, and social cohesion, as learnt from a local media.

In terms of economic reform, PP has focused on industrialization, investing in infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing. The country has seen increased foreign investment, particularly in textiles and garment manufacturing, and there has been a push to modernize agriculture. The privatization of state-owned enterprises including Ethiopia’s telecommunications industry aims to boost competition and attract foreign investment.

In the same manner, the PP has made strides in political reform, shifting toward peace and stability. Since its formation, the party has worked to foster national unity coming up with various effective strategies. What is more, the Party has encouraged political dialogue bringing competing parties into the fold for the development of the country.

In a similar vein, the country has been working with the goal of inclusive social development that ensures universal prosperity to enable the society to ensure its universal security, dignity, and social interaction. In more concrete terms, by augmenting the utilization of national resources and increasing production and productivity at a high level, Ethiopia’s economy has shown a rapid growth and change of more than 7 percent.

By creating a sustainable development finance system, directions have been set that will give the green light to building an economy breathing new life into the country’s economy. Apart from that the party has decided to work in close collaboration with concerned stakeholders with a view to registering a dramatic change in the country’s economic growth at the earliest possible moment.

It goes without saying the party has been working around the clock with the goal of answering the growing needs of the people of Ethiopia by smoothing the path of the general public’s capacity in various development endeavors of the country.

On top of that a strong position has been taken to lead the participation of the people in the Green Legacy initiative program with the desire of making the initiative a permanent public culture. It is public knowledge that the initiative has won the hearts and minds of the wider international community and turned out to be the talk of all and sundry. The success stories of the initiative have continued receiving a pat on the back.

As things currently stand, every single year the people of Ethiopia from all sections of the population and all sectors of the society plant many different types of seedlings in the left, right and center of the country in a successful fashion.

It should be understood that everyone should join hands and form an alliance with greater motivation and determination for the prosperity of Ethiopia. If they keep following the same path, the intended destination of the party will be accomplished almost immediately. In a related move, the various development activities surfacing in every corner of the country will sustain going in the right direction paving the way for ensuring prosperity in all aspects.

Be that as it may, foreign parties drawn from various nations have witnessed the various development undertakings manifested in the country. Most of them have been taken by surprise following the breathtaking changes unfolding in the country.

Representatives from 15 foreign parties attending the Prosperity Party’s (PP) second General Conference have praised Ethiopia’s development progress, particularly the corridor development initiative. A group of delegates recently visited Entoto Park, citing it as a prime example for other nations.

Mohammed Sadiki of Morocco’s National Rally of Independent Parties expressed his admiration for the park, calling it “remarkable and impressive.” He appreciated the visit and the Ethiopian government’s hospitality, noting the park’s breathtaking views of the capital and its contribution to tourism and the country’s image.

Noxolo Kiviet, a member of the African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) of South Africa, highlighted the significant infrastructure projects in Ethiopia, especially the Addis Ababa corridor development, as impressive and a model for other countries.

She emphasized the park’s role in enhancing Addis Ababa’s reputation as the diplomatic capital of Africa. Noxolo’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to national transformation and improved livelihoods through sustainable development and progress.

As a matter of fact, Ethiopia has been getting itself involved in various reforms with the intention of catapulting the country to new opportunities. A case in point in this regard is the ongoing macroeconomic reform surfacing all over the country.

It should be borne in mind that on the heels of the macroeconomic reform, a wide range of beneficial endeavors has been witnessed in every part of the country against all odds. The promising strides of the reform have sustained moving forward in the right direction bringing about the desired goal within a shortest time.

As things stand at present, the positive moves of the reform have been receiving admiration from the wider international community in view of the fact that it has kicked off creating favorable chances for investors smoothing the path of competitiveness.

In addition to clearing the way for enhancing economic circumstances, the ongoing macroeconomic reform demonstrates the noteworthy achievement of the country. Other than that the reform has given rise to addressing quandaries circling around foreign currency shortages. In the aftermath of the effectuation of the reform, Ethiopia has continued augmenting remittance inflow to the country.

The Ministry of Industry has stated that macroeconomic reforms implemented by the Ethiopian government since July have successfully addressed key bottlenecks in the manufacturing sector, according to a local media.

Industry State Minister, Hasan Muhumed Moalin, recently told ENA that the reforms have, for example, alleviated the long-standing foreign currency shortage that previously hindered manufacturers’ ability to import essential inputs, spare parts, and machinery.

Recently, the Ministry organized a public-private dialogue aimed at addressing challenges and seizing opportunities to unlock the potential of the manufacturing sector.

“We had a public-private dialogue focused on our economy, led by the private sector, which plays a crucial role,” Hasan said. “Therefore, it is important to understand the problems, challenges, and opportunities arising from the macroeconomic reforms. In this context, foreign exchange was a major constraint for the manufacturing sector, limiting the importation of spare parts, inputs, and machinery. However, the macroeconomic reform has completely resolved this issue.”

As a matter of fact, the party has been greasing the wheels of the country’s development undertakings in several respects in a successful manner. In the Congress, various foreign parties have expressed their support and pledges attaching due emphasis to the country’s economic growth in the region and its commitment to peace and development.

Similarly, following the second Congress, foreign parties have expressed their feelings, ideas, and thoughts with regard to the ongoing development undertakings.

On the occasion, Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK), Deputy Chairman, Zafer Sırakaya, emphasized the strong and enduring ties between Ethiopia and Türkiye, built on mutual respect and a shared vision for regional stability. He acknowledged Ethiopia’s rich history and its role as a beacon of hope for nations striving for independence. Sırakaya noted the growing trade, education, and cultural ties between the two nations, affirming Türkiye’s commitment to Ethiopia’s development and regional cooperation.

In general, social development activities that have been started should be implemented in a way that can attain the goals of development and fair use and make certain social prosperity. By working in close collaboration, all pertinent bodies should go to the ends of the earth to accelerate the country’s development.

If everyone keeps on combining efforts and uniting efforts, taking the country to the next level of economic accomplishment will be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
