• Eyes stronger Ethiopia- U.S. ties
ADDIS ABABA– Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) congratulated Donald Trump yesterday on his election as the 47th President of the United States of America, extending warm wishes for a successful and impactful term.
In his social media message, Abiy expressed optimism that the longstanding relations between Ethiopia and the U.S. will flourish further under Trump’s leadership. He highlighted the strong people-to-people and trade ties between the two nations, expecting them to be invigorated in the years ahead.
The Prime Minister also noted the partnership between the U.S. and Ethiopia in combating terrorism, which has contributed to peace and stability in the region. Diplomatic relations, established in 1903, continue to expand in trade and investment, marking a new chapter in the historical bond.
Trump won the closely contested election, defeating Democratic nominee and current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
