ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia is consolidating efforts to boost safety and maximize the satisfaction of air passengers, Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) said.
Briefing journalists yesterday, Authority’s Security and Facilitation Director, Debebe Girma said that the country is endeavoring to keep passengers’ safety and boost their satisfaction.
It is also working hard in close cooperation with Information Network Security Administration (INSA) and other stakeholders to fostering aviation excellence, and fighting against disruptive and unlawful behaviors.
ECAA is also working in collaboration with Ethiopian Customs Commission on enhancing the national facilitation program to expedite aviation activities, according to Debebe.
Though the authority is taking measures to enhance its customers’ safety and satisfaction, there are still limitations related to coordination and lack of adequate resources, he mentioned.
As a founding member of international civil aviation organization (ICAO), Ethiopia should comply with the 12,000 plus global standards set by the organization through ensuring the air transport safety and security, ECAA’s Aircraft Registration and Airworthiness Certification Chief Inspector, Ashenafi Mekonnen said.
The Authority has established “Aviation regulation” platform in evaluating, certifying, supervising, inspecting and auditing air operators. There is also “Aviation Personate” evaluating from pilot/aviator, maintenance, providing certification
