رئيس المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين يعرب عن تقديره لإثيوبيا

اديس ابابا -العلم-أعرب مفوض الأمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اللاجئين ، فيليبو غراندي ، عن تقديره لحكومة إثيوبيا لاستضافتها اللاجئين وتقديم الدعم اللازم لحماية سلامتهم.

 زار المفوض السامي مخيم اليمواش للاجئين الواقع في مدينة جوندر الشمالية في بلدة ديبات في إثيوبيا.

وأشاد المفوض بالدعم الذي تقدمه حكومة إثيوبيا إلى اللاجئين الذين يتم إيواؤهم في المخيم.

كما أعرب المفوض عن امتنانه الشديد للمجتمع المحلي لقبوله اللاجئين.

ووفقًا لغراندي ، فقد تم إجراء مناقشة بناءة مع ممثلي اللاجئين جنبًا إلى جنب مع المدير العام لدائرة اللاجئين والعائدين.

من جانبه ، قال المدير العام لدائرة اللاجئين والعائدين تيسفاهون غوبيزاي إن أكثر من 880 ألف لاجئ من مختلف البلدان قد لجأوا إلى 22 مخيماً مختلفاً للاجئين في إثيوبيا.

 تم إيواء أكثر من 28000 لاجئ في مخيمات اللاجئين الواقعة في ديبات.

أعلنت خدمة اللاجئين والعائدين (RSS) وفي يونيو الماضي استقبلت الحكومة الإثيوبية أكثر من 30 ألف لاجئ وطالب لجوء، معظمهم من جنوب السودان والصومال على مدار العامين الماضيين.

وفي حديث لوكالة الصحافة الإثيوبية (EPA) ، قال المدير العام لـ RRS، تسفاهون غوبزاي، إن البلاد استقبلت حوالي 30 ألف نازح جديد من جنوب السودان والصومال على مدار العامين الماضيين.

مع ملاحظة وجود مخيمات اللاجئين الرئيسية في جامبيلا، بني شنقول غوموز، الصومالية، عفار، تيغراي، إقليم أمهرة ، أشار تسفاهون إلى أن أكثر من 80 ألف مهاجر يقيمون أيضا في أديس أبابا، مضيفا: “على الرغم من أننا واجهنا تحديا بسبب جائحة كورونا والاضطرابات في بعض أجزاء البلاد، إلا أننا نسعى جاهدين لتوفير الخدمة اللائقة للاجئين حتى في هذا الوقت الصعب”.

كما قال: “بصفتها عضوا مؤسسا لأول وكالة دولية للاجئين، تقدم إثيوبيا الآن مساهمة كبيرة في الجهود المبذولة لاستضافة ثالث أكبر عدد من اللاجئين في العالم، لدينا أيضا تاريخ طويل في الترحيب باللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء حتى قبل التصديق على القانون المعترف به دوليا”.

كما أشار إلى أنه سُمح للاجئين وطالبي اللجوء بالعيش في إثيوبيا قبل اعتماد الاتفاقية الدولية لعامي 1951 و 1967.

تستضيف إثيوبيا حاليا أكثر من 870.000 لاجئ يأتون من أكثر من 26 دولة، معظم اللاجئين هم من جنوب السودان والصومال وإريتريا والسودان.

وأضاف: “لكل فرد الحق في طلب الحماية هنا في إثيوبيا إذا شعر بعدم الأمان بسبب هويته أو انتمائه السياسي”، مشيرا إلى أننا مسؤولون أيضا عن الاعتراف باللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء.
