أعلن الاتحاد الإثيوبي للملاكمة أنه سيعقد المؤتمر العام من اجل اجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية للاتحاد الأفريقي للملاكمة السبت القادم في قاعة اجتماعات الاتحاد الأفريقي في أديس أبابا.
وأعلن الاتحاد الإثيوبي للملاكمة أن أكثر من 47 دولة، من بينها الرئيس والأمين العام للاتحاد العالمي للملاكمة، ستشارك في المؤتمر العام.
وأوضح الاتحاد الإثيوبي للملاكمة، في بيان صحفي له يوم الاثنين الماضي، أنه تم الانتهاء من الاستعدادات اللازمة.
وتم ترشيح رئيس الاتحاد الإثيوبي للملاكمة السيد إياسو وسن لتمثيل إثيوبيا في الانتخابات الرئاسية للاتحاد الأفريقي للملاكمة.
وبحسب توضيح المرشح الرئاسي، فإن مجلس إدارة الاتحاد الأفريقي للملاكمة قرر إجراء الانتخابات في أديس أبابا، وتكفلت إثيوبيا بتغطية التكلفة كاملة.
وقال السيد إياسو، إنه واثق من فوزه في الانتخابات، وذكر أن هدفه الأساسي هو زيادة عدد المنافسات الدولية وتعزيز ممارسة رياضة الملاكمة في المدارس.
واضاف إياسو انه في حالة فوزه بالانتخابات، فإن الاتحاد الأفريقي للملاكمة سيعزز علاقته مع الاتحاد الدولي للملاكمة، وأن لديه خطة لتوسيع مشاركة أفريقيا في الأولمبياد.
وإذا تم انتخاب المرشح الإثيوبي رئيسا للاتحاد، سيتم الإعلان عن أن مقر الاتحاد الأفريقي للملاكمة سيكون في أديس أبابا، كما سيتم بناء ملعب للملاكمة في أديس أبابا.
وذكر السيد إياسو أنه سيتم تخصيص ما يصل إلى 10 ملايين دولار من الاتحاد الدولي للملاكمة لتنفيذ أعمال البناء.
ويتنافس الكاميروني برتران ميندوجانا والمغربي محمد الكابوري مع إياسو في الانتخابات التي ستجرى يوم السبت القام.
وسيصبح من يفوز في الانتخابات بأغلبية الأصوات رئيسا للاتحاد لمدة أربع سنوات.
