Gorgora Eco Resort: Exploring lakeside facility’s magic

ADDIS ABABA – Gorgora Eco Resort emerged as a thrilling tourist attraction for its splendid appearance and luxury services, Amhara State Communications Bureau expressed while inviting visitors to enjoy the lakeside facility experience.

Developed under the Dine for Nation initiative in Amhara state, the Gorgora Eco Resort that was built along the shore of Lake Tana is designed to improve visitors’ satisfaction and elongate the time they spend in the country, Amhara State Communication Bureau Head Mengesha Fantaw (PhD) said.

He told The Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA) that Gorgora is unique for its quality, beauty, breadth, and charming nature it encompasses compared with other projects being made under the same initiative.

The Head pointed out that the resort incorporates hotels, restaurants, amphitheater and other services significant to keep the contentment of the visitor.

“Gorgora is full of wonders, attracts international community for being rich in alluring natural resources. The popular project was completed recently which is attributed to the commitment of the reformist government leadership,” he added.

Currently, a number of domestic tourists are enjoying the splendid Gorgora Eco Resort, Fantaw said, adding that promotion works are underway so as to attract foreign visitors.

Mentioning that the tourism industry  requires peace and stability, he called on the warring groups at the far end of the state, to resolve conflicts peacefully.

Likewise, he said all concerned bodies to play due role for lasting peace, which is pivotal in reviving tourism and ensuring economic development in Amhara State.

“Particularly, the weather in many countries is hot at this time whilst rainy in Ethiopia. Therefore, it is suitable season for attracting foreign tourists in Ethiopia. Due to this reason, making the destinations comfortable for tourists is crucial,” he underlined.

Fentaw believed that the Gorgora Eco Resort has high potentials to attract a huge number of visitors and improve the livelihood of the local community and tourism revenue of the country.
