The initiative demonstrates the power of collective action and the impact that individuals and communities can have in promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment.

“Ethiopia’s agro-ecosystem is a vital component of the country’s economy in providing livelihoods for millions of citizens. But the system is facing a range of challenges, though the country has made significant progress in promoting sustainable agriculture and improving the resilience of the agro-ecosystem.”

The Green Legacy Ethiopia has been exercising is a crucial step in safeguarding the agro-ecosystem and helps senior leadership learn more about biodiversity, too. He has called on the government and other concerned bodies to get the initiative run through an organized institution thereby duties and responsibilities can be discharged accordingly.

Interventions aiming at conserving natural resources, sustainably managing myriads of ecosystems, and restoring degraded biodiversity to enhance ecological services thereby building resilience and improving human well-being as it is vital in ensuring sustainable development.

In this regard, the nation should work hard to develop land policy in a bid to govern the green legacy, investment, agriculture, among others in a more established fashion.

GGGI is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies like ours, he added.
