A day in Doha

Last Sunday, together with his delegation Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) had traveled to Doha, Qatar to attend the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5). During his stay in Doha, Prime Minister met and discussed with leaders of different countries parallel to attending the conference.

PM Abiy had discussed with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Ibin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed, the Prime Minister of Yemen.

 The shot here was taken during the discussion between the delegation of Ethiopia led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani in Doha. During their discussion, the leaders of the two countries deliberated on ways of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. In addition, they discussed and exchanged views on regional common issues.

PM Abiy also briefed to the Government of Qatar about the ample investment opportunities in various sectors for Qatari investors in Ethiopia.

During the discussion PM Abiy stated that partnerships and investments are essential for least developed countries. He underlined the necessity of partnership in minimizing the debt impact on least developed countries to ease the burdens through initiating new and practicable global framework in debt restructuring.

Following the discussion, PM Abiy twitted that “Pleased to meet with Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani today. We have explored our bilateral ties and discussed regional issues. There are many opportunities for Qatari investments in various sectors in Ethiopia.”

PM Abiy has also met with Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father of the Emir of the State of Qatar and discussed on supporting social development and investments in Ethiopia.

 Prime Ministry Abiy also met with President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Doha parallel to the LDC5 event.

In the above shot, which was taken in Doha, the two countries’ leaders are seen shaking hands with sunny faces depicting amicability. Their facial expressions hand-shaking and gazes at each other show a respect and friendly relations. The leaders of the two neighbors discussed on bilateral and regional issues.

 In Doha, PM Abiy also met with Prime Minister of Yemen, Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed during the UN LDC Conference. The above shot captures feeling of fraternity while the two prime ministers shaking hands during their meeting.

 Ethiopian all-women flight crew trend during Women’s Day

 Ethiopian Airlines is the biggest and fast-growing airline in Africa. It continues expanding its local and international destinations, modernizing its services, and its customers are increasingly growing.

The Ethiopian flag carrier, Ethiopian, is member of the Star Alliance and is expanding its destinations from time to time. Currently, it has over 22 local and over 130 international destinations flying to more than 76 different countries across the globe, from its hub in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

Ethiopian remains at the top of Africa’s aviation sector. It remains the best Airline in Africa for five years in a row, best business and economy class airline of Africa for four consecutive years and best business class onboard catering in Africa.

Annually, during the past seven years, Ethiopian had been celebrateing International Women Day (March 8) uniquely. To honor women during the day, Ethiopian annually prepares a flight to be operated by all-women team, the whole service of the flight to be managed by women only. This becomes a culture of at Fly Ethiopian.

During this year’s International Women’s Day as usual, Ethiopian set a women crew for one international flight from Addis Ababa to Zanzibar.

 This group picture was taken at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa on March 8, this week. This group picture is an all-women flight crew led by Capitan Amsale Gualu during their preparation to fly to Zanzibar from Bole International Airport.

According to Ethiopian Airlines, the all-women flight has been operated fully by female professionals in the sky as well as on the ground. Airport operations, flight dispatch, load control, ramp operation, on-board logistics, safety and security, creating as well as air-traffic control were entirely operated by women professionals of the airline.

This pall women flight initiative was continued for seven years in row and becomes an annual culture and trend of the Ethiopian during March 8. The all-women flight team in the above picture are shown wearing the popular uniform of Ethiopian. The team in the picture includes the Captains, the hostesses and the whole cabin-crew.
