ADDIS ABABA – The western media has continued deceiving the global community over the Northern Ethiopia conflict through denying the voice of Ethiopians, said Hermela Aregawi.
Talking to media, Journalist Hermela Aregawi said that the western media continues denying the recently grand demonstrations held throughout the country.
“The public has largely shown its interest and condemned the Terrorist TPLF and its loyalists. However, the western media are silent about all the demonstrations carried out in Ethiopia,” she stated. Talking about the massive protest against foreign aggressors took place in Addis Ababa, Hermela briefed that the recently held UN Security Council meeting concerning about Ethiopia was also unhelpful and organized in favor of anti- Ethiopians.
As to her, though they came out with no resolutions, the general consensus among many Ethiopians and Eritreans is that [Some world powers have been changed to unreliable]. “If there is one thing that Ethiopians and Eritreans have a consensus on is that the T-TPLF was empowered by foreigners between 1991 and 2018. T-TPLF can no longer come back into the political equation since they started the war in 2020,” she remarked.
Ethiopians understand that they may have to pay a sacrifice for their sovereignty but they continue to speak up, push back, and let the foreigners be aware of that the T-TPLF cannot continue to ask for concessions from the Ethiopian government, she explained. The African Union-led peace talk is a bottom line for T-TPLF as it has been looting and killing civilians. Accordingly, the government, activists, and the public should continue to speak out about the reality until the partiality of international community comes to end.
