ADDIS ABABA – Three key Saint George strikers are out of action for the rest of the season due to sustained injuries and medical problems, club sources confirmed. The national team and St. George striker Saladin Seid has been operated for appendicitis for the second time in one month time.
At the initial stage it was expected that Saladin would be back in action in short span of time but when he was forced to carry out the second operation it was concluded that quick recovery was not in sight. The other striker is Getahun Kebede who had knee injury a few weeks ago was unable to make quick recovery from the operation.
The Doctors suggested that he will not back to play in this season simply because he needs long to fully recovery. The third striker is Mehari Mena who travelled to India for Surgery following the injury he sustained in the Cup final against Mekelakeya.
St. George’s trio will not return to the pitch in this season, according to their doctors. Saladin had an attempt to return to play after the first surgery but the second surgery forced him to stay away all through the season.
