This February 9, 2022, Ambassador of Russia to Ethiopia E. Terekhin was received by Minister of Education of the FDRE Berhanu Nega (Prof.).
The two sides have just exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation in science and education. They also have discussed on issues in order to strengthening of its legal framework in its follow up.
The Ambassador congratulated his counterpart on his recent appointment to this high position. During the meeting, Minister Berhanu explained to the ambassador in detail about plans for reforming these areas in Ethiopia.
The parties noted with satisfaction the long-standing tradition of training highly qualified specialists from Ethiopian nationals in Russia. A great contribution to the training of Ethiopians was made by Russian professors, who worked here in different periods of history.
A true symbol of friendship between the peoples of the two countries is the Bahr Dar Polytechnic Institute, which has now become a University.
This is one of the oldest higher education institutions of the FDRE, gave a start in life to many thousands of Ethiopians, who now constitute the intellectual elite of their country.
The counterparts agreed to continue mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of their countries and peoples, according to the Russian Embassy in Addis Ababa.
