Hermela pleads to media to stop spreading lies about Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – An Independent Journalist, Hermela Aregawi has continued pleading to the international community to end propagating TPLF big lies that have been supported by giant paid media.

In her recent interview with The Gray Zone, she said that she was supporter of the CNN and the New York Times report during the beginning of the war.

“I thought they were doing their due diligence to tell that story. But I am a Journalist and I have been in the business for ten years. So, overtime I was able to see the inconsistencies and CNN is telling the story from the perspective of TPLF officials and activists and all the time reporting in favor of the terrorist group setting the truth aside,” she said.

The government of Ethiopia is democratically and legitimately elected one following the vast majority vote, so the allegation of against the government has a direct repercussion to the allegation of the majority Ethiopians. Their voice should be heard and their unwavering support for their government must be taken to account, she remarked.

Once she started to see those inconsistencies, even within the activism, she thought that all campaigns which are using the name of ethnic Tigrayians are not for the people, as to her.

“I suspect the money solicited before was not for the people, rather it was for TPLF to empower it for the fight against the Ethiopian government. None of the activists have said word stating that the war should top as people are dying in mass since TPLF militias entered neighboring Amhara and Afar states.”

“As group is a set of some political elites and causing huge destruction of property and life loss, the people of Tigray should show firm resistance against the TPLF-provoked war,” she underscored.
