Revitalizing the spirit of Adwa

“We may not appreciate it right now, but Ethiopians are fighting an African war. America knows the door to Africa is thru Ethiopia. If they can subdue Ethiopia, the rest will bow with a one-word command from Washington. So, the least we can do is support Ethiopia. No more,” said recently a Ugandan activist and Provisional Spokesman of the United African States. The activist has clearly understood the conspiracy brewed by the western neocolonialists against Ethiopia as well as their long term ill intents even on Africa.

True, Ethiopia is a gateway to Africa and a nation that has special place in the hearts’ of Africans. It is a country that Africans proud of it and an insignia of their unity, solidarity, freedom and source of inspiration. The Victory of Adwa is the best instance in this regard.

The glittering victory ensured Ethiopia’s independence, disgraced colonial powers through inflicting a humiliating defeat over the Fascist Italians army; and signaled the end of colonization under the African skies.

The success has special meaning for Ethiopians, Africans as well as black people across the globe. It has enabled them to stand with dignity, hold their head high and walk with pride and gratification.

As a historic watershed in the history of black Africa, the Battle of Adwa always resonates in the heart of black people as a symbolic victory, signifying defiance to colonialism.

Due to this, the scuffle was a war that Ethiopia fought not only to defend its own territorial integrity and sovereignty; but to end the misery of Africans and come into being freedom and independence.

Even the current war that the country has entered into forcefully is though with the terrorist TPLF group, several external entities, especially Westerners are attempting to exacerbate it aiming to destabilize the nation, thereby serve their interests. Standing in favor of the terrorist enterprise and through disseminating falsified news, they are untiringly working to threaten the existence of the nation.

Ethiopians, in their history, had never kneeled down to external forces and, they would not do that now. Ethiopians, by standing by the side of the national defense forces, they would thwart the terrorist faction that plots to dismantle the country, said Dr. Bikila Hurrisa Head of the Prosperity Party Public and International Relations.

Briefing at Addis Weg webinar discussion forum at Prime Minister Office, Dr. Hurissa said that the people of Ethiopia are responding to the Existential Campaign call in very amazing fashion as their forefathers did. Thousands of Ethiopians, regardless of any differences, are joining the defense forces in a manner mark the spirit of Adwa. Patriotism is alive within the mind of the posterity. Not only that, they are also backing the army in various ways.

“In my view, it is a prime time to stand in unison and support the National Defense Forces of Ethiopia in every possible way, be it materially, psychologically, apart from joining the army.”

Despite the desperate ill intentions of TPLF, Ethiopians are now standing as one as same as they did at the time of the Battle of Adwa. Following the call made by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) to safeguard the nation from the Existential Threat posed by the traitor terrorist faction, all Ethiopians have come together as their forefathers did 125 years back.

Mentioning the gleaming victory Ethiopians gained over the Fascist Italians invaders, he said the success apart from arousing strong sentiment among Ethiopians; it has confirmed as patriotism is alive in the blood and bones of the new generation.

As to him, the indomitable spirit of our forefathers has driven Ethiopians to flock from all directions, join the army and move to warfronts. Former soldiers are also re-joining the army to make sure the war against the terrorist TPLF is finalized in a possible shorter time.

With this same purpose- to thwart the terrorist enterprise, finalize the war in a possible shorter time- the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) has called on former members of the Ethiopian armed forces, who are physically fit, to register and stand by the national army side.

As the Ugandan activist stated, the warfare that Ethiopians are currently involved is not a fight waged against Ethiopia. Rather, it is African war because any threat that affects the peace and security of Ethiopia has a domino effect in the Horn and even beyond. What is more, the conspiracy that Westerners, especially U.S., brewed against Ethiopia does not end in disrupting the nation even though it is impracticable. It goes further and knocks every African country’s doors.

As the activist predicted, if they can subdue Ethiopia, the rest will bow with a one-word command from Washington. So, the least all African countries can do is join hands, stand as one, support Ethiopia, and abort all the conspiracies. By doing so, we can establish a united and strong Africa.
