Sowing seeds of hatred among brothers destined nowhere

BY LAKACHEW ATINAFU

Prominent scholars claim that TPLF throughout its times-when it was in struggle, while it seized power and even after it was overthrown-has been triggering societal chaos and crisis under the guise of a coalition EPRDF. It has also been ridiculing sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ethiopia through deliberately promoting denigration and devising strategic conflict instigation mechanism taking the advantage of diversity among Ethiopians as an opportunity.

Most notably, the groups have been busy in instigating tribalism and eroding the sense of Ethiopiansm to fulfil their rapacious interests.

Simeneh Kiros was born in Gayint Woreda, in Amhara State. He attended his elementary in his birthplace, Gayint and his secondary study Fasilides Gondar.

In short moments of togetherness with The Ethiopian Press Agency the scholar said that the terrorist TPLF has been working diligently to divide the peoples of Ethiopia thereby realize its rapacious interest. Since its inception, it was striving to weaken and block alternative political views in Tigray and the country. Not only that; but it has also committed serious visible and hidden crimes on several Ethiopians who have different ideologies and views during its administration.

As to the scholar, the TPLF had a handwritten manifesto in 1967. Adhering to this manifesto, it has attempted to realize its first goal widely aiming mysterious magnetism among the diverse nations and heterogeneous society taking as if an institution paying tribute to colonial legacy. As it has no vision to be part of Ethiopia and does not want to see the united country, it has forcefully annexed territories of the nearby Afar and Amhara States.

The move was started by immersing and planting seeds of hatred and sense of vengeances upon the Tigrayans and other ethnic groups to consider Amhara as an enemy. According to him, when they thought of Amhara as a nation, they assumed of it as a political ideology. The front has been promoting the idea since then.

As to the legal scholar, since it assumed power, the party has been eroding the longstanding social fabrics and coexistence of the people as it had no national interest of Ethiopia. Instead, TPLF was fully engaged in realizing its greediness to secure its future.

Simeneh further said that TPLF was highly committed in further extending its divisive rhetoric and spreading its politics of hate among the people thereby amassing and accumulating everything it could find.

The challenges they had been encountering for ages has enabled them to identify that economic security is the priority target; even though after achieving that, they became more voracious and unpredictable.

Aspiring as the sole and only supreme power of Ethiopia, the Horn and the Region, TPLF indulged in a hollow bravado and hypocritical politics burying societal laws and values considering themselves time attested heroes and upgrading their egos.

It is clear such contemptuous act always bears undesirable consequences. This is practically observed on TPLF because it ignored voices of the mass and listen to its own rapacious desire and destructive motives.

Since they saw Achilles’ heel of Ethiopia and the decency of the respective nations, their greediness escalated from time to time. They began to desire many things. The more they gained, the more their greediness grew. They applied all the opportunities at hand that could be done to amass wealth. They engaged themselves massively such as land grabbing, investment, in service provision sectors and the like areas to piling up wealth.

When all this is done, they were always at war with themselves and with the people directly or indirectly. Above all, the concept of Amhara has always been a nightmare for them, he added.

“They dislike Amhara at all. I cannot describe the TPLF’s criticism of Amhara as such. Because there was no such thing as an Amhara nation,” he said referring to the account Professor Mesfin Woldemariam had said before.

“It is true that the people of Amhara never claimed to be Amhara. They claimed, I am Gondre, I am Gojjame, I am Wolloye, I am Shewe. Amhara means Christian.”

“But for the TPLF, Amhara means three things. It is seen as oppressive ideology; it is considered as permanent enemy that nations must fight against; and it is the one to be destroyed. But we do not understand that. It is difficult to think of TPLF is being in nightmare with its imagination to this vigor. Indeed, there was oppression in the country; all are oppressed, all have been wrongly treated, all trampled, we must all fight, we must grow, we must prosper, and we must be free. All nations, nationalities and peoples share this.”

Simeneh insisted that politics is like gambling. This is true not only for our country but also of other countries. What motivates nations the most to fight for is human blood.

The legal scholar further said that Ethiopians should not kneel down and stretch their hands for aid. Rather, they should be visionaries and looking forward for sustainable development, reformation and nation’s renaissance.
