ADDIS ABABA- The Ministry of Defence has announced the establishment of a Command Post in connection with the security crisis in North Shewa and South Wollo Oromo Special Zone of Amhara State.

A command post consisting of three zones, including state and federal security agencies has been established.

The command post works to ensure the rule of law in the areas.

According to the command post, various restrictions have been imposed in order to restore peace in the area.

Accordingly, the command post has now begun taking measures against those responsible for the conflict.

In a statement, the FDRE Defense Force said destructive forces are claiming the lives of innocent people in various areas and now the ENDF is taking measures on against the destructive elements.

Meanwhile, the Amhara State announced that it is working to wipeout the perpetrators from Ataye and its surrounding.

Amhara State Peace and Public Security Bureau Head Sisay Damte told local media that the State’s Special Force and the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) are working together to completely free the area from the destructive force.

Sisay called up on the community to stand by and work with the security forces as there are steps to be taken to clear up the armed force from the area.

Sisay further said more security forces are deployed to stop the attack in Ataye and Shewa Robit following the massive killings of civilians and destruction of properties.

The extremist group has carried out a series of similar attacks in the area, according to him.

“Ataye is now under a consolidated control of the government security forces after innocent people were killed and injured, and properties were vandalized,” he said.

The perpetrators, organizers, and leaders of this incidence must be brought to justice, he said.
