ADDIS ABABA: – Ethiopians have proved the world on several occasions that they would never bend to external pressure thereby foiling ill attempts , ESAT Interim General Manager and Politician Andargachew Tsige said adding that strengthening unity and diplomacy is highly needed to help Ethiopia withstand the pressure of the external forces emanating from the TPLF’s deceitful relationship during its tenure.
In his exclusive interview with the Ethiopia Press Agency (EPA) regarding the current national issues, Andargachew pointed out that the impact of any foreign government or international institution on Ethiopia depends on the strengths and weaknesses of all Ethiopians and the level of their unity.
Recalling that Ethiopians cannot be influenced by foreign forces if they remain united as history witnesses it, he said westerns will respect Ethiopia’s sovereignty and work with the Ethiopian government accordingly, he added.
“All political forces in Ethiopia, regardless of their differences with the government, should publicly show that they do not accept what is being done against Ethiopia. They should work with the government for a colossal cause, “he said.
Coupled with strengthening internal unity, Andargachew asserted that Ethiopia needs to solidify its diplomatic relations with the rest of the world identifying real friend
and foes. Similarly, diplomatic discussions should be held with the foreign governments that have been misled or lacked the real information about the current situation in Ethiopia so that they can remain friends of Ethiopia.
As to him, it is necessary to oppose the some countries that want to oppress Ethiopia hand in hand fortifying ties with those who are by the side of Ethiopia. It is also significant to mobilize the diaspora communities across the world to strengthen the influence that has been created at some countries.
Apart from the TPLF Junta, the government of Egypt is also one of the catalysts who are pushing the Westerns to put high pressure against Ethiopia. Adding to the point, he said that there are many other reasons why some foreign governments and their close financial, human rights and media institutions are putting pressure on Ethiopia. As to him, the Junta’s fake propaganda coupled with Egypt’s misrepresentation regarding Ethiopia is two of the major reasons.
Taking advantage of the current situation in Ethiopia, the government of Egypt is making its effort to persuade the international community and various international organizations through disseminating fake news. They thought that it will put Ethiopia in the spotlight regarding the construction of the GERD.
Explaining his opinion, Andargachew also underlined that their actions have now shown that they are worried about the post TPLF government may not be as obedient for them as they used to.
Mentioning that the international community’s influence on Ethiopia is raised up following the law enforcement action taken by the Federal Government against the TPLF Junta for its barbaric act, he called on the entire community to strengthen its unity more than ever before to safeguard their sovereign country—Ethiopia.
