Youth League discusses unleashing potential for nation building

 ADDIS ABABA – Addis Ababa Prosperity Youth League has hosted a dialogue on building a unified country. The platform is intended to utilize the youths’ potential to building a better Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa Youth League Head Aemro Adugna told The Ethiopian Herald that the platform is expected to solve the disparity on the nation building process. It is hoped to come up with the right approach to building a better Ethiopia.

Aemro said the platform is intended to create common understanding and embracing the diverse culture, language and political views as well as treating one another equally regardless of ethnic and political backgrounds.

The nation building process needs to fill the historic gap which ends up in contention among the people of Ethiopia. The youth need to draw lesson from history and move forward with excelling idea, he said.

The platform needs to solve the questions of ethnic oppression and ethnic based violence. It also curbs the use power to gain personal interest and focus on creating a prosperous Ethiopia via justice and fairness.

The platform is inclusive of youths from various ethnic and political backgrounds. The attendants of the discussion are invited to the platform via an online registration.

A youth form Bole Sub-city, Dawit Genenew said that the youths have a potential to change the economic and political aspect of the country. And youth need to execute their potential for the better so as to realize a prosperous and civilized nation.

Another participant from Arada Sub-city Medhanit Aweke said that the program has created awareness regarding the role of youths in building a better country. She said youths need to work on how to serve their country.
