ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahimed (Ph.D.) has been working tirelessly on building good partnership with the Horn of Africa countries, Somali State President Mustafa Mohammad said.

In his recent interview with the Horn of Africa TV, Mustafa said extensive activities were done during the past two years to strengthening the regional integration.

Stating the rapprochement between Ethiopia and Eritrea as a very crucial accomplishment, he noted that Ethiopia has forged stronger ties with Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, and Uganda.

“ Ethiopia is now on the right track in building genuine partnership across the Horn of Africa.”

As to him, the TPLF junta used to apply destructive mechanism to undermine genuine partnerships with friendly countries in the region.

The Premier has done a lot in creating a sense of optimism that has not been there before, he noted. He also avowed that the new regional integration of the Horn of Africa has made Somali to be beneficiary as a result of its geographical location and economic integration.

He further elucidated that Eritrea and the rest of the countries in the region that had been cut out for the past years are right now very pleased about the new regional reform. “In my point of view a new spirit of cooperation and brotherhood is emerging. Of course this narrative is not going to be agreed or accepted by the Junta groups who lost their power.”

“Because all of the things we are talking now are things that they were trying to prevent when they were in power. Therefore, it is now an era of optimism for us while it is an era of pain and doom for TPLF,” Mustafa emphasized.

Meanwhile he further underlined that the ignorance and arrogance behavior of the Junta groups contributed to their terrible defeat. In addition to that their psychology of belligerence, psychology of supremacy has blinded them to the storm that they were facing, he added.

Being surprised for their silence and ignorance to make any attempt in solving their problem with Eritrea or with the neighboring Amhara, Afar and Oromia states, he explained that the TPLF Junta was committing grave constitutional crimes across the nation.

Indeed, being thoughtful ,the premier did not feel it was time to confront them this is because the Junta will be regretted with what it has done for the past three decades. But, what happened on November 4, 2020 with the attack on the Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) by the Juntas finally brought matters to where they are today.

Currently the people across the nation are supporting the federal government in bringing the Junta leaders to the court not only because of their shameful and brutal act on the Northern Command, but also for their horrendous human rights track that were recorded when they were governing Ethiopia.

Coupled with sustaining peace and economic prosperity in the nation, this new post TPLF era that Ethiopia is entering will enhance the larger peace security stability of the greater Horn of Africa region ,Mustafa said.
