PM Abiy visited Syrian refugees in Ethiopia

 ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has paid a visit to Syrian refugees in the capital Addis Ababa in connection with the Eid-Al-Fitr holiday.

In his statement PM Abiy said that, “earlier today I visited Syrian refugees to wish them happy Eid ahead of the end of Ramadan fasting period.

These refugees have made a home in Ethiopia after fleeing violent conflict and deserve to celebrate the end of Ramadan in dignity. As one of the largest refugee recipient countries Ethiopia is working to provide protection for those whose lives have been destabilized due to war”

By indicating that Ethiopia is among the largest recipients of refugee, the country is working to support refugee who flee their home due to conflict, PM Dr. Abiy acknowledge.

PM Dr. Abiy in his Facebook address quoted that “today I want to see for myself the wonderful work the two brothers Khalid Nesir and Mohamed Ali have been doing to support around one hundred vulnerable individuals during the COVID-19 crisis out of their rental home around bole. I respect individuals like these two who are investing their time, energy and money to support their fellow Ethiopians in need” Abiy remarked.
