ADDIS-ABABA– City Administration of Addis Ababa Job Creation and Enterprise Development Bureau announced that it has created job opportunities for 205,477 citizens within the past nine months.
Abiot Tadesse, Director within the Bureau, told The Ethiopian Herald that among the people, who benefited from the job opportunities167, 138 of them were youths, 97,079 women and 21,342 were graduates
of higher education. The Bureau also created awareness program for 187, 316 unemployed people in an effort to change the attitude of unemployed citizens.
Meanwhile, the Bureau also transferred working place for 874 enterprises that are organized in manufacturing, construction, service rendering, trade and other sectors within the aforementioned time period.
The Director mentioned that the Bureau has been operating to reduce maladministration that can occur while transferring working places by properly implementing legal frameworks that were set by federal and city administration. The city administration has also been changing the structure of the office that administers the working places in different times by undertaking different study on the issue.
The federal government and the city administration have a lot of legal frameworks, structures and processes that enable us to administer the working places in a proper manner, he noted.
He indicated that to reduce improper holding documentation system that can cause the prevalence of maladministration government has been implementing Labor Market Information System that helps reduce the error in holding document regarding job creation. The government has been implementing One-Window based services in a bid to provide effective and efficient service government, Abiyot added.
