ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) said that Millennium Hall located in the capital Addis Ababa is ready to fight against corona virus pandemic.
As the government of Ethiopia is stepping up readiness for coronavirus disease outbreak millennium hall is converted into COVID-19 treatment center temporarily. Director of Preparedness and Emergency Response Centre at Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Zewdu Assefa, told to The Ethiopian Herald that, the treatment center has a capacity to accommodate close to 1000 patients.
So far according to the ministry of health Ethiopia has l94 confirmed cases and reported four deaths from the coronavirus. The preparedness for any eventualities in similar spaces will continue and so far the patients are receiving treatment from hospital and health posts, he indicated.
According to him the treatment center is equipped with all necessary materials and will be used if the surge of the pandemic is beyond the capacity of hospitals
