ADDIS ABABA – Equatorial Guinea has donated a building found in Addis Ababa to the African Union which the Equatorial Guinean Ambassador to Ethiopia described the move as part of his country’s commitment to supporting continental comprehensive transformation.
The initiative to present the building to the AU comes from the spirit of solidarity which characterizes the good gesture of the president of his country.
Ambassador Crisantos Obama Ondo told The Ethiopian Herald that Africa’s political history is marked by foreign interference in the internal affairs of the African States, which negatively affects the capacity and conditions of sovereign and independent African countries. “This trend hinders the continent’s capability of ensuring peace and stability that are prerequisites for its development.”
Therefore, the donation of this building to the African Union by the President of Equatorial Guinea was intended to strengthen the capacity of the continental bloc so that it can manage peace and security in Africa.
Meanwhile, the ambassador said that the framework of cooperation signed between Equatorial Guinea and Ethiopia which has a far-reaching effect not only in elevating bilateral economic and cultural ties but also cementing collaboration in the sub-region, according to him.
