ADDIS ABABA – An Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Defence, Lemma Megerssa took part at the Ethio-US Bilateral Defense Committee meeting held in Washington DC.
Chief of Staff of the National Defense Forces, General Adem Mohammed and other senior military officers, also attended the meeting. The US side was represented by Major General William J. Walker, Commanding General of District of Columbia National Guard.
Fitsum Arega, Ethiopian Ambassador to the USA lauded in his tweet M.General William J.Walker and the entire US team on the first day engagement for the “productive meeting we had on the National Guard Partnership”.
The Ethiopian high level delegation led by Minister of Defence, Lemma Megerssa arrived in Washington DC for the US-Ethiopia Bilateral Defense Committee meeting on Monday.
The United States first established diplomatic relations with Ethiopia in 1903, and has maintained them ever since, despite changing forms of government.
