Ministry vows to open more public KG schools

Providing and making available pre education for pre-school kids would be the government’s priority and 300 public KG schools are due to be inaugurated, Ministry of Education (MoE) indicated.

Yohannes Wogasso, School Program Improvement Director at Ministry of Education said that the KG schools will be opened in the nine states and two city administrations. The pre-education school will have significant roles in supporting low-income communities and every Ethiopian child would get ample opportunity for education, he stated.

‘‘Pre-school education in Ethiopia is becoming challenging for the every parent. Having understood the problem, the government is tirelessly working to address the problem. It has been supporting underprivileged societies to get access of free education. This would continue to through opening new KG schools,’’ Yohannes noted.

He added that though the government has been working to improve child education coverage of the nation, the child enrolment rate especially in rural areas of the country is still in its lowest level as compared to the number of population.

Hence, the director is sure that the government would strive to solve the challenges facing low-income societies by opening new public schools which would ensure quality of education. In addition to this, the government has planned to supervise and study the implantation of pre-school education, he noted.

Furthermore, the incumbent will consult with parents at every channel to realize quality of education and to nurture children in an appropriate manner, as to him.
