Upon arrival at Waqo Gutu Airport, Robe, the diplomats were warmly received by local officials.

The visit brought together more than 20 foreign ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps based in Addis Ababa.

According to the information from the Ministry, the visit follows a reception held in Addis Ababa for the ambassadors, where the itinerary for the tour was officially launched.

Tourism State Minister, Sileshi Girma, has briefed the guests about Ethiopia’s tourism potential and highlighted the immense attractions of Bale Mountains National Park and its wonderful topography, ideal for vacation hiking.

Accordingly, the Bale Mountains National Park is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a site of outstanding universal value. It is among Ethiopia’s the most significant contributions to the world’s natural heritage and a vital part of the country’s efforts to boost sustainable tourism.

Bale Mountains National Park, known for its unique wildlife, scenic highlands, and Afro-alpine ecosystems, is a UNESCO World Heritage nominee and one of the country’s premier destinations for nature-based tourism.

Tourists who had a chance to visit the Park also underscored that the Park and its surroundings are home to an extraordinary fauna and flora with an exceptional degree of endemism, and in several cases, they are the only remaining populations of globally threatened species across numerous taxonomic groups.
