
President Taye Attends Russia’s 80th Anniversary of Victory Day
President Taye Atske-Selaassie of Ethiopia attended the 80th anniversary of Russia’s World War II Victory in Moscow’s Red Square. During his visit, he participated in a reception and dinner at the Kremlin Palace and met with President Vladimir Putin.
The commemorative events included a military parade, attended by President Putin and other world leaders, highlighting the significance of the occasion. In discussions with Igor Levitin, an advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, President Taye focused on strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and Russia, particularly in the logistics and transportation sectors.
Prime Minister Abiy Receives Israel’s Foreign Minister
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) welcomed Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, at his office during Sa’ar’s official visit to Ethiopia. The two leaders discussed strategies to deepen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between Ethiopia and Israel.
PM Abiy emphasized that Ethiopia and Israel “share a longstanding bond rooted in history,” highlighting potential collaboration across economic, political, and social spheres.
FM Gedion Discusses Bilateral Relations with DRC FM
Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos (PhD), held discussions with Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Francophonie of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The two sides expressed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors.
To enhance these ties, the ministers signed a General Cooperation Agreement, which outlines multiple areas of cooperation and establishes a Joint Ministerial Commission, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This week, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) also met with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State. The minister delivered a message from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to PM Abiy.
