ADDIS ABABA – The U.S. State Department has announced that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) held discussions with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
According to the press release, their dialogue focused on shared priorities, particularly fostering stability in the Horn of Africa (HoA) and enhancing bilateral relations. Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ commitment, stating, “The United States supports a peaceful and prosperous Ethiopia.”
This meeting marks the first publicly disclosed high-level engagement between Ethiopian and the U.S. leadership since Donald Trump assumed the presidency.
