قال مفوض إدارة مخاطر الكوارث الوطنية في إثيوبيا متكيو كاسا ، إن حوالي 60 في المائة من جميع المساعدات الإنسانية في أجزاء مختلفة من إثيوبيا تغطيها الحكومة.
وقال متكو لوكالة الأنباء الإثيوبية إن حكومة إثيوبيا واصلت تكثيف الجهود لاستجابة المساعدات الإنسانية ، لا سيما في المناطق المتضررة من الجفاف في الأجزاء الشرقية والجنوبية من البلاد.
وقال إن حكومة إثيوبيا تعمل عن كثب مع الشركاء الدوليين لتقديم المساعدة الإنسانية لجميع المحتاجين في مختلف أنحاء البلاد.
ووفقًا له ، فقد أثر الجفاف الناجم عن ظاهرة النينو هذا العام على أكثر من 6.4 مليون شخص في الأجزاء الشرقية والجنوبية من إثيوبيا ، حيث يغطي منطقة جغرافية واسعة وعددًا أكبر من السكان.
